Policies: Last week, we received a letter and other information from the state of California, describing new requirements for federally-licensed dealers that ship firearms to federally-licensed dealers in California. For full information, see here.
Products: Well, it's gone.
We had one - we had an LCP - from Sturm, Ruger & Co. - but it's gone.
It cost us $12 more than does a Kel-Tec P-3AT; I guess that, when you copy something, you're bound to get something wrong. Same size, same weight, same trigger pull, same mag capacity. Yeah, just one mag, just like the Kel-Tec. Oh - it's a bit cuter.
And - FINALLY! - Sturm, Ruger has learned how to make a gun that weighs less than a pound. That's something, I guess.
Should we order another? Let us know here.
About recall letters: we finally received official notice from Sturm, Ruger, that SR9s made between October and April, serial numbers beginning 330-, should be returned to the manufacturer. Apparently, if one of our clumsier brethren should drop his SR9 with the safety disengaged, it might discharge. Caution is recommended - in other words -
don't fucking drop your gun!
Smith & Wesson is back again! From 15 May 2008 through 15 August 2008, anyone buying any NEW Sigma series pistol or NEW M&P series pistol will be qualified to receive EITHER a $30 rebate OR 2 more magazines free of charge FROM SMITH & WESSON!

Services: Do you have a blued handgun that is looking a bit, well, tired? You know how it is - you don't want to re-blue the gun, being mindful of resale value - but if you could just get the gun smartened up, a bit, maybe? If so, Brother Tom has mentioned that he might consider going into the part-time smartening-up business: when he's done, a dull 50-year-old Smith looks brand-new - without losing any bluing.
